Funeral services for Barry D. Brown, 71, of Roswell, will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home with Pastor Troy Grant officiating, followed by graveside service at Memory Lawn Cemetery with the Roswell Veterans Honor Guard providing military honors. Barry passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013, at his home with his beloved wife at his side. Visitation will be held from 12-8 p.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2013.

Barry was born in McCamey, Texas, on March 30, 1942, to Harold Shelly Brown and Lois Vernell Bynum Brown. He married Mary H. Lenderman on January 14, 1982, in Deming, NM.
He served in the U.S. Navy and worked mainly in construction as a power lineman. Barry never met a stranger and was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed auctioneering, catering, and was a very talented woodworker. He would rather work a cross- word puzzle before he did anything else. He loved to volunteer and help others at Berrendo Baptist Church. Barry is a past member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 25 year member of the IBEW, Local 611 and a member of Berrendo Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Mary; children Rebeccah Brown (Dan Jones), Jimmy Dale Simpson (Brenda), Allan H. Simpson (Jennifer) and Barry Doug Simpson (Verna); sister, Pat Wallas of California, sisters-in-law, Kathy Keene (Leo) of Roswell and Margret Hardin of Roswell, brother- in-law, Cecil Lenderman (Sue) of Graham, WA; grandchildren, Daniel Jones, Jessica Jones, Clinton Simpson, Justin Mims, Breanna Simpson, Cheyenne Simpson, Lane Dale, Lana Dale, Lance Dale, and Cody Simpson; great-grandchildren, Jessie Simpson, Jamie Simpson, Christopher Jones, Shayla Jones and several nieces and nephews.

Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Harold S. Brown and Lois Bynum Brown and one infant son, Barry Richard Brown.
Serving as pallbearers are Leslie Keene, Terry Lewis, Chuck Sampsom, Bill Kilgore, Larry Fry and Wade Miller.
Honorary pallbearers will be men of Berrendo Baptist Church.
