Roswell will celebrate National Pet Week, Saturday, with another adoption event at Tractor Supply, N. Main St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Animal Welfare Alliance will bring a number of dogs for adoption. The Roswell Humane Society will participate with dogs and cats who would be happy to have a new home.

In addition, Hilde Hounds Mobile Grooming will offer $5 nail [auth] clippings. A photographer will be available to take pictures of people and their pets at a nominal cost.

Berrendo 4-H Club will be selling salsa while the Optimist Club will hold a gun raffle.

A vendor will provide snacks and other food, including snow cones, burrito pie and chili dogs.

In keeping with the spirit of the occasion, Tractor Supply will have pet food on sale and have register-to-win prizes of $100 and $2,000.

A representative from Roswell Animal Services will also be present to let people know about what animals they have on offer.

Doggy Saviors have ordered 80 elevated beds for the animals at Animal Control so they no longer have to sleep on the cold, hard concrete floor. Any donations toward the cost of these beds would be appreciated. Contact Sammye Leflar-Bohnstehn at 575-420-3782 if you would like to donate to this cause.

One of the animal representatives is Adonis, a white Husky. He is neutered and ready to go to an exceptional home where he can share his furry good looks and sloppy, wet kisses with his new family.
