Albuquerque police: Man killed in parking lot

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Albuquerque police say they have made [auth] two arrests in connection with the death of a man who was found stabbed in a store parking lot.

Officer Tasia Martinez identified the two men who were arrested Wednesday as 51-year-old Abelardo Gonzalez and 38-year-old Andres Gonzalez.

Both men were booked on charges including murder, tampering with evidence and conspiracy. They’re being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center without bond.

According to police, the victim got into a fight with two men in the parking lot. Store security broke up the fight, but the victim was stabbed when the fight resumed.

Police say security guards were able to get a license plate number that led to the arrests.

The victim has been identified by police as 42-year-old Christopher Chase.
