ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a man who was fatally shot at fundraising event in Albuquerque.
Albuquerque police say 36-year-old Japheth Seaman was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound Sunday and later died.
Authorities say Eppies Motorcycle Shop was raising money for someone battling cancer when three men from a motorcycle gang showed up and began yelling at the attendees.
Police say one of the men brandished a collapsible baton and hit a man in the face with it. The other two men brandished handguns, and gunshots from both the men and the crowd ensued.
Police say Japheth was hit by a bullet from the crowd, but the shooter is unknown.
KOAT-TV says crime scene investigators discovered more than 70 spent bullet casings at the scene.
