ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Albuquerque police say detectives conducting surveillance on a man suspected in several recent armed robberies arrested him as he left a store that was the scene [auth] of another holdup.

Police say 24-year-old Michael Garcia faces multiple counts of armed robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to police, Garcia was arrested Wednesday night by detectives who’d been watching him since another detective made a connection by watching surveillance video from one of the businesses robbed earlier.

It’s not immediately known whether Garcia has a lawyer.

Police say they were aggressively working the case because it appears the same armed individual had committed the previous three robberies.
