Chaves County Commissioners will consider approving the county’s fiscal year 2013-2014 final budget, adopting a report on the proposed listing of the lesser prairie chicken and placing a moratorium on new subdivisions today beginning at 9 a.m. today.
Commissioners will consider, among other business, approving a final fiscal year 2014 budget during its regular meeting at the County Administrative Center, 1 St. Mary’s Place.
Commissioners are also expected to consider adopting a report, issued by the Center for Environments Science, Accuracy and Reliability on the proposed listing of the lesser prairie chicken.
The report, delivered by Bob Zink during a special meeting with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on July 11, found that the data does not support the proposed listing.
