1 dead, 3 wounded in shooting in Farmington

FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) — One man died and at least three o[auth] ther people were wounded in a shooting in Farmington.

Investigators tell the Farmington Daily Times ( that they are trying to determine the motive behind Saturday night’s shooting.

Several people are believed to have fired weapons in the shooting.

Neighbors’ homes and unoccupied vehicles were sprayed with bullets.

Police say 40-year-old Christopher Valdez was found dead in the street and is believed to have been a bystander.

Three others who were shot were being treated for their injuries and are expected to survive.

After the shooting, a 31-year-old Kirtland man arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds and told police he was shot in a separate incident.

Investigators haven’t confirmed the Kirtland man’s statements.
