Police Blotter: Surprise vacuum cleaner stolen off porch

Larceny
• Police were dispatched to Cajun Court, Wednesday. A wom an reported that she saw a box that had been delivered on the porch of her house. She walked into her home and put down the packages she was carrying. When she returned to the porch, the box was missing. The husband reported that the box contained a $100 vacuum cleaner he had purchased for her as a surprise.
• Police responded to the 100 block of East Third, Wednesday, after an employee walked into work and decided the air conditioner didn’t sound right. After checking on the unit, they discovered the copper had been removed from the system.
• Police were called to the Pampered Lady, 309 N. Main St., Wednesday, where subjects took $40 worth of copper from the air conditioner.
• Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Oliver Street, Thursday, after subjects removed a $200 bicycle from the yard.

Criminal damage
• Police were called to 600 block of South Main Street, Wednesday, where subjects broke a window to gain access to a vehicle and rifled through the contents, nothing was reported missing.
• Police responded to the 1100 block of West Seventh Street, Thursday, where a total of five windows were smashed in a rental property. The replacement costs were estimated at $1,000.

Burglary
• Police were dispatched to East Morningside Drive, Wednesday, after subjects forced entry into a home by prying open a door, causing $150 worth of damage. The victim reported numerous items, including a bicycle, stolen.

Criminal damage
• Police were called to 600 block of South Main Street, Wednesday, where subjects broke a window to gain access to a vehicle and rifled through the contents, nothing was reported missing.
