Eugene Daniel Sena, 75, of Lake Sumner, passed away at his home Sunday, July 14, 2013. He was born April 24, 1938, in Alamogordo Canyon to the home of Alfredo [auth] and Crusita (Aragon) Sena. He attended school at Fort Sumner.

Gene served in the U.S. Air Force. He married Mary Griego on Dec.1, 1978, in Albuquerque. For the past 40 years, they owned and operated Fisherman’s Hideaway, a restaurant and lounge at Lake Sumner.

Gene was a member of the American Legion, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his family and visiting with his many friends.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alfredo Sena and Anastacio Sena; and two sisters, Theresa Gauna and Norma Murphy.

He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Sena, of the home at Lake Sumner; three daughters: Sylvia Macias, of Phoenix, Ariz., Sandra Sena, of Flagstaff, Ariz., Nadine Blythe, of Socorro; six sons: Jerry Sena, of El Paso, Texas, Gene D. Sena Jr, of Fort Worth, Texas, Edward Sena of El Paso, Texas, Gary Chavez, of Roswell, Michael Chavez, of Roswell, and Zeke Chavez, of Rio Rancho; a brother, Leonedes Sena, of Clovis; three sisters: Andrea Caballero, of Clovis, Virginia Meeks, of Portales, and Esperanza Barela, of Clovis, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Cremation has taken place; a memorial service will be held at Lake Sumner at a later date.
