LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Authorities say a suspect has been arrested in the shooting of a Las Cruces man.
D[auth] ona Ana County Sheriff’s investigators say 21-year-old Corey Lee Willis remains in the county Detention Center on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
He’s being held on suspicion of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, being a felon in possession of a firearm and tampering with evidence.
Authorities say Willis allegedly shot and wounded a 21-year-old man early Friday and then broke into three homes in an attempt to hide with his girlfriend.
Sheriff’s officials say 20-year-old Mariam Pimentel is facing charges of breaking and entering and conspiracy to commit a fourth-degree felony.
She’s held at the county Detention center on a $5,000 surety bond.
Authorities didn’t immediately know Monday if Willis or Pimental have lawyers yet.
