Registration is now open for Kids Kollege classes at Eastern New Mexico University- Roswell. The ENMU-R Center for Workforce and Community Development will offer a variety of free, fun and educational classes for area youth from July 29-Aug. 2. Classes are designed for students ages 8 to 14. There is a limit of two classes per student. Pre-registration is required, as class sizes are limited. Funding for Kids Kollege is being provided through a grant from Xcel Energy. Classes will include frisbee golf, rockets, solar pictures, basic sewing, exploring Earth, solar cars, ice cream store and an out of this world class, where students will learn about rockets and planets. The Roswell Independent School District Food Services will be hosting a summer breakfast and lunch program free to all students 18 and younger from June 3-July 31. Adults may get a meal for $3, correct change would be appreciated. Meals will be served at the following locations, dates and times (sites are subject to change):

The Roswell Parks & Recreation Department Summer Concert Series has scheduled a Concert in the Park for this Friday, July 12, and will run every Friday until Aug. 16. Concerts are held in Cahoon Park, 1101 W. Fourth St. Performances will vary and different types of music will be showcased, including country western, rock ‘n’ roll, jazz and many others. The first concert will feature The Pacers who will be performing oldies, country western, Latin and some rock ‘n’ roll. MainStreet Roswell will present a free movie every Saturday this summer. All movies will begin at dusk at Cielo Grande, with the exception of the July 20 movie which will be shown at Cahoon Park; and the June 28 movie to be shown at the Roswell Civic Center. The movies to be presented are:

The Salvation Army monthly pancake breakfast will be Saturday, July 13, from 7-11 a.m. at 612 West College. Chapter B, P.E.O. members, husbands and guests will gather for a potluck brunch on Saturday, July 13, at 10 a.m. in the parish hall of St. Andrew’s Church. The Roswell Parks & Recreation Department is sponsoring sports conditioning clinics. Technique, skills and rules will be covered to improve performance in competitive volleyball. The co-ed clinics are open to ages 8-14. The volleyball camp will be held July 15-18 from 8:30 a.m.-noon. Cost to attend will be $25 and will take place at the Yucca Recreation Center, 500 S.
