The Animal Welfare Alliance will hold an Animal Adoption Event on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at Tractor Supply, 5000 N. Main St. Sammye Leflar-Bohnstehn said the AWA will have a number of dogs and puppies available.
The only cost for adoption is reimbursement of any medical expenses, shots and neutering, so the price will [auth] vary. She explained: “We have one 4-month-old Chihuahua. She received her first course of shots, and we will add on the cost of spaying. I will set up an appointment at AWA’s low cost clinic.”
Representatives of Roswell Animal Services and the Roswell Humane Society will also be there to discuss adoptions at their respective facilities. It won’t just be dogs that are represented. The Humane Society plans to bring a few of their adoptable animals, including at least one of the feline persuasion.
“We also are looking for people to foster animals,” said Leflar-Bohnstehn. “We will have applications on hand so you don’t have to adopt to save the life of an animal.”
She urged people who are interested in fostering, but unable to make it to the Adoption Event, to contact her at roswelldogs.com. Another project in the works is a new webpage that will feature animals from Animal Services, called Roswell Urgent. It will have pictures of those in most urgent need of a good home.
