SUNLAND PARK, N.M. (AP) — Dona Ana County officials say Sunland Park residents will have to wait a couple more days for their water to be restored.
Crews determined late Friday that the shaft of the community’s well was damaged following a power outage. The part needed to fix the well and bring it back online is scheduled to arrive Monday.
Until then, residents who depend on the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority are being asked to conserve and be prepared for outages through the weekend.
Drinking water is being made available at the fire station next to the water utility office.
The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority provides water service for Sunland Park and most of the unincorporated areas around the Santa Teresa County Club and the Santa Teresa Port of Entry.
