Stephen Allen Aston, 69, of Tucson, Ariz., passed away in his home June 18, 2013, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. Steve was born in Dexter on February 11, 1944, to Alvis Carol and Ruby Nerine Aston. Steve was known for being an honest, fair, and reliable man. He was a much loved barber for 44 years in Chaves County and owned Styles by Steve. He moved to Tucson in the spring of [auth] 2004, with his wife, Ramona, and spent the last eight years of his life doing what he loved; he continued to cut hair two days a week, played golf every day, and also enjoyed going with his wife to the nearby casino.
Steve loved his family very much and was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, AC Jr., and brother-in-law, Ross Sykes. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Ramona Pat; kids and grandkids Kimberly, Dustin, and Jessicka; Casey, Laura, Jade, Dakota, and Conner; Travis and Eddey; Paul, Cheyenne, Aniston, and Alexis and Adam, Daynette, and Echo, as well as nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Marva Sykes, and her children David and Angie; Ross Allen and Carmen; and Terri and Jason.
There will be a memorial service held for Steve on Tuesday, June 25 at 10 a.m. The service will be held at Midway Family Church at 65 Yakima Road in Midway.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to a Melanoma Cancer Foundation because one of his sons is fighting melanoma and only 3 percent of research funding is dedicated to this type of cancer.
