Woman beaten, stabbed, treated; man arrested, charged, jailed

The Roswell Police Department responded to a call to the 900 block of East Alameda around 7 a.m., Tuesday, in reference to a domestic disturbance.

When officers arrived at the scene, they learned a woman had been kidnapped, beaten, and [auth] stabbed by Seferino Aldavaz, 35.

The victim had been held against her will over the weekend.

Officials learned the incident began on Sunday when Aldavaz became upset with the victim, got a knife from the kitchen, and stabbed her in the back of the head. Aldavaz confiscated the woman’s cell phone.

On Monday, Aldavaz battered the woman again, causing a laceration on her forehead. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment her injuries.

Aldavaz was arrested and charged with aggravated battery against a household member, battery against a household member, false imprisonment, and interference with communications.

Officers transported Aldavaz to the Chaves County Detention Center, where he remains without bond.
