Police Blotter: Victim refuses to ID assailant

•Police were dispatched to the 500 block of South Michigan, Wednesday, where a 72-year-old man was hit by a truck. The victim was taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries. Although he admitted to knowing the identity of the driver, he would not divulge the name to authorities.
•Police were called to the 300 block of West Forest Drive, Wednesday, after a report of a man with a gun. A witness stated that three [auth] men had gathered at the intersection of Forest and Kentucky, when one discharged a weapon. Officers located one Winchester .45 caliber automatic shell casing. The victim refused to press charges.

Police responded to a call from Walgreens, 1835 N. Main St., Wednesday, after a woman took two boxes of Pampers, two boxes of baby wipes, a heavy-duty hand needle and a razor knife. Officers made contact with the female subject at the intersection of Garden Avenue and College Boulevard. She was arrested.
•Police were dispatched to Albertsons, 1110 S. Main St., Wednesday, after a female subject stole $318 worth of makeup from the store. About $225 worth of items were recovered, and the woman was arrested.

•Police received a report of aggravated burglary in the 1100 block of West Eighth Street, Wednesday. The victim told officials that a .38 caliber revolver was missing.
•Police were called to the 900 block of South Missouri Avenue, Wednesday. The investigation revealed the door had been pried open, causing $500 in damages, and a Samsung TV, a Vizio flat-screen TV and gold-and-diamond wedding set had been taken. The items were valued at $1,440.
