A memorial service will be held for Lydia Angela Nunez Herrera, 52, of Roswell at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Trinidad Community Church, 1707 W. Juniper, with the Rev. Mike Bush officiating. She passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013, in Lubbock, Texas.
Lydia was born in Roswell, Dec. 25, 1960, to Andrew and Mollie Escobar Nunez. She was a lifelong resident of Roswell and a member of Trinidad Community Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her parents of the family home; her two children, Lorena Griego Cordova and her husband Michael, of Albuquerque, and David Ray Castellon, of Roswell; her grandson Michael F. Cordova; three brothers, Michael Miranda and his wife Valarie, of Rio Rancho, Andrew L. Nunez, of Albuquerque, and Charles Nunez and his wife Michelle, of Roswell; three sisters, Susan M. Narvarez and her husband Victor, of Dallas, Cynthia L. Larson, of Roswell, and Sandra L. Matta and her husband Andrew, of Lubbock; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
Lydia was preceded in death by her brother David Alan Nunez; her maternal grandparents Maximiano and Trinidad Escobar; and her paternal grandparents Augustine and Sofia Molina Nunez.
Cremation has taken place per her wishes.
