Suspect steals TV from Walmart

Walmart, 4500 N. Main St., became [auth] the scene of a strong-arm robbery around 10 p.m. Friday, after a male subject removed a 32-inch television, still chained to a shelf, and ran from the store with the television set and the display case.

When the subject got to the parking lot, he demanded a woman’s keys and took her vehicle.

The suspect caused considerable damage while making his escape. Roswell Police Department Public Information Liaison Sabrina Morales confirmed: “He smashed into several parked cars.”

The suspect backed into one vehicle and damaged four vehicles in all, one belonging to the Walmart Loss Prevention officer.

A woman driving to Walmart reported seeing a television set in someone’s front yard; however, when officials went to check, the television was no longer there.

The male also stole a package of socks and a shoe care kit. The socks were recovered in the parking lot. The police located the woman’s car on Sunday.
