Darlene Brady, of Midland, Texas, formerly of Roswell, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 6, 2013, in Laughlin, Nev., [auth] at the age of 81.
She was born May 6, 1932, on a farm west of Minco, Okla., the ninth of 12 children of Jesse and Lillie (Hacker) Yingling. She attended Minco High School. Darlene married William H. Brady on July 11, 1950, in Roswell.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Midland Inspiration Center, 4629 Andrews Hwy, Midland, Texas. Gary Hacker will officiate.
Darlene was preceded in death by one grandson Jason Cowan Diers; one granddaughter; Jessica Claire Brady; her brothers, John, Harold, Alfred, Raymond and Joe; and her sisters, Dorothy, Zella Mae, Alma and Naomi.
Darlene was an extraordinary homemaker, and enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and cooking. She had a great love of children, enjoyed talking and especially listening to them. Everyone will always remember the way that Darlene made everyone who crossed her path feel special.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years William H. Brady, of the home; her children, Rejeana Sue Diers, of Midland, Willa Dean Brady, of Albuquerque, Michael Brady (Trina), of Midland, Ron W. Brady (Norma), of Seminole, Texas, and Don B. Brady, of Midland; seven grandchildren, Kendra Brady, Chloe Cheatem, Brian Brady (Ashley), Melissa Silva (Joe), Monica Mellon (Randy), D.J. Brady and Joshua Brady (Liz); and nine great-grandchildren, Rheana, Kaleb, Brendan, Maddie, Harrison, Ryleigh, Sierra, Melinda and Daniel; her sister Barbara Joan Boyd (Robert), of Lompoc, Calif.; and her brother Jerry Yingling (Kathy), of Holbrook, Ariz. Darlene is also survived by many cherished aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, or to the charity of your choice.
