ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — The University of New Mexico law school has a new dean.
The school announced the appointment of David Herring on Friday.
Herring replaces Kevin Washburn, who was appointed last year as the assistant secretary of Indian Affairs within the U.S. Department of Interior.
Herring is a law professor at the University of Pittsburgh, where he served as dean of the law school from 1998 to 2005. He also founded and served as the first director of the school’s clinical legal education program.
He will be starting at UNM on July 1.
