New Mexico State Police and the Chaves County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting a DWI Super Blitz May 1-6. The Super Blitz includes DWI checkpoints and saturation patrols are geared toward preventing DWI.
Southeast NM Community Action Corporation has funds for mortgage/rent, utilities, and prescriptions. Their office is at 209 E. Hendricks (at the Headstart Building). Applications may be picked up Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Walk-ins welcome from 8:30 a.m.– 12 p.m. Clients are seen on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Eligibility based on low-income guidelines and presentation of documents requested.
