Laura Hedgecoxe Reynolds passed away peacefully at the age of 98 on Jan. 7, 2013, in Los Altos, Calif. She was born on Dec. 1, 1914, to Earl and Alice Hedgecoxe in Roswell.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Tom S. Adams and also her second husband, Dr. Paul Reynolds and her daughter Pamelia Adams. Laura is survived by her son Tom H. Adams and her daughter-in-law Pam Adams, of Los Altos, Calif. She is also survived by grandchildren, Kelly Adams, of San Francisco, Jeffrey Adams, of New York City and Michael Adams, of Mt. View, Calif.
Laura grew up in a very rural New Mexico. She and her twin sister Pamelia lived on a ranch near Roswell in the Capitan Mountains, had their own horses and learned to drive a Model A in a pasture. When she was 3 years old, she was lost on the north side of the El Capitan Mountains , 2 1/2 miles from her home. She was found three days later after spending two nights in the wild.
She married Tom Adams in 1938, and in 1948, the family moved to Southern California to be close to her twin-sister Pamelia Daniel and her family. In 1954, the family moved again, to Phoenix, Ari. After her first husband, Tom Adams, died in 1972, Laura moved back to Roswell. She married Dr. Reynolds in 1986. In 2005, Laura moved to California to live near her son and his family.
A private service will be held at South Park Cemetery and she will be interned next to Dr. Paul Reynolds.
