Police Blotter: RFD: auto fire ‘suspicious’

Police were c[auth] alled to the 100 block of West Hendricks Street, Monday, after a vehicle was set on fire. The vehicle sustained damage to the front end. The Roswell Fire Department put out the blaze before police arrived. The firefighters told officers that the fire “appeared suspicious.” The investigation is continuing.

•Police responded to a call from Red Brick Pizza, 625 N. Main St., Monday, where subjects stole two surveillance cameras and a commercial air conditioning unit.
•Police were dispatched to the Church of Christ, 1512 S. Main St., Monday, after subjects cut through a chain link fence to gain access to two air conditioners. According to police reports, the subjects removed the working mechanisms from inside of each. Cost of damages, repairs and replacement was estimated at $12,400.

•Police were called to the 900 block of East Mathews Street, Monday. The victim reported that sometime between Friday and Monday someone entered the unlocked vehicle and took a 9 mm handgun, valued at $288.
•Police were dispatched to West Byrne Street, Monday. Investigation revealed that unknown subjects pried open a window to gain entry into a residence and stole five firearms of unknown make, jewelry and some DVDs.
•Police were called to the 1200 block of West McGaffey Street, Monday, where subjects entered a vehicle and removed a suitcase containing a computer and a teacher’s school books.
•Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of West Second Street, Saturday, after someone broke the passenger window of a vehicle and took $4,000 cash and some costume jewelry.
