A rosary will be recited for Fred Pilley Jr., 73, of Roswell, at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2013, at Grace Community Church, with the Rev. Lendell Nolan officiating. Burial will follow in South Park Cemetery. Fred passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013, surrounded by the love of his family.
Fred was born Nov. 6, 1939, to Fred E. Pilley Sr. and Vera Pilley (King) in Hagerman. He was brought up and a member of the Nazarene Church, he owned Pilley’s Floor Coverings, and worked in the eastern part of New Mexico for many years. He was also an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for many years and also an active member of the Elks Lodge in Roswell. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Melba Pilley, of the family home; his son Craig Pilley and his wife Bambi, of Henderson, Nev.; two grandsons, Jake and Chaz; great-grandson, Ryker; his daughter Carmen Pilley, of Alaska; grandson Dallin Kerby; granddaughter Sheigh Drew and her husband JD Drew; three great-grandchildren, Jack, Ella and Lucy; his son Kevin Bussell and his wife Vanessa; granddaughter Rayanna Saenz; and grandson Ty Bussell, of Roswell.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fred E. Pilley Sr. and Vera Pilley (King) and the last remaining of his siblings.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Bannister, Wayne Pilley, Billy Parker, Jimmy Pilley, Terry Pilley, Frank Bennett, Carmen Scafella, Linton Miller, Al Cribbs, Dan Gomez and Jim Ottobock.
