Court document says NM man told wife about murder

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Federal court records reveal that an Albuquerque man allegedly told his wife that he had killed another woman, dismembered her and hid the corpse.

The details are [auth] included in a forfeiture action filed in U.S. District Court against Christopher Blattner. He has not been charged in the death of Kathy Paquin, who officially remains a missing person.

The Albuquerque Journal reports ( that the U.S. Secret Service learned last August that Blattner and his wife had fraudulently withdrawn some $63,000 from Paquin’s bank account by using her ATM card.

Blattner was arrested last August on unrelated charges following a nine-hour standoff at his home during which he fired at officers. Aside from violating probation stemming from drug convictions, he was wanted in connection with the 2007 slaying of a man whose body was found near Route 66 Casino.
