Cannabis patients
The SouthEast New Mexico Medical Cannabis Alliance, a medical can-nabis patient support group, will meet in Roswell on Wednesday, March 20, at the Holiday Inn Express, 2300 N. Main St., at 6:30 p.m. The SENMMCA assists people in the application process, the renewal process, producer information, personal production methods, processing methods, strain effectiveness, medication availability and a host of other concerns. Agriculture Day
Rise with Roswell Agricultural Day Breakfast will take place on Thursday, March 21, from 6:45-8 a.m. at the Farm Bureau Building at the Eastern New Mexico State Fair Grounds. Volleyball registration
Recreation League Volleyball Registration will continue through Friday, March 22. Registration for the youth league is open to children in grades 2 through 8 and the cost is $30 per player. Registration for the adult league is open to all players above the age of 15 and the cost is $130 per 10-player team, and players may register individually. Porcelain Art Club
Yucca Porcelain Art Club will meet Saturday, March 23, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2801 W. Fourth St. Social hour begins at 9 a.m. Business meeting is at 9:30 a.m. Shirley Nock of Levelland, Texas, will present the program. There will be a Ho’ike at the Roswell Adult and Senior Center Saturday, March 23, from 7-9 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Ho’ike is the Hawaiian word for show or exhibit and that is what will be presented in Roswell. Cadets from New Mexico Military Institute’s Pacific Islander Club will be dancing several of their dances from their homelands along with other entertainment. The Sweet Leilanis Kipuka Hula hui (group) will also be dancing new hula in addition to a few old “faithfuls” during the evening. This event will have other talents among which will be the the vocal group Devoted (Nellie and Howard Becker) and the Sweet Ukulanis ukelele group of Hawaiian music. The audience can view/bid in a silent auction. A DVD featuring the scenic islands of Maui, Kaua’i and Hawai’i will be shown from 6:30-7 p.m. A light refreshment will be served at the intermission. Ticket prices are $5 for children over the age of 7 and for adults. Tickets for children 6 years and younger are $3. All tickets can be purchased from any Sweet Leilanis Kipuka Hula member (Juanita Howard, Silvia Flores, Linda Jones, Luz White, Carol Oas, Emma Arzola or Marla Higginbotham) and at the RASC. Passover dinner
There will be a Passover dinner Monday, March 25, from 6-11 p.m. at 1224 W. Country Club Road. Everyone is welcome, and the event is free. Call Maureen to see which dish you may bring to share during the event at 420-7554.
