Police Blotter: Kid chucks rocks at car

Police took a report, Monday, after a vehicle traveling near the corner of Atkinson Avenue and Second Street was struck with a rock thrown by a juvenile, causing $700 worth of damages.

Police received a walk-in report, Monday. The man said he had received a phone call from [auth] someone who claimed to be from Publishers Clearing House. The caller said the victim had won $7.5 million and a Landrover. The victim was told to purchase seven $1,000 refillable Green Dot cards from Walmart. He had also received several e-mails about this alleged “win.” The victim said he had not given away any of his personal information, but he expressed concern that the fraudsters knew not only his phone number, but also his address and his e-mail address.

Police were dispatched to Sears, 1000 S. Main St., after a subject removed a Craftsman wrench set and two pair of sunglasses from the store without paying. The items were valued at $100.
