Services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2013, at La Grone Funeral Chapel for Thomas Landrum Kilgore, 73, of Roswell, who passed away March 5, 2013, at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Melvin Suttle, of First Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow in South Park Cemetery, with military honors provided by Roswell Veterans Honor Guard.
Thomas was born Dec. 5, 1939, to Jess and Eva Mary Neal Kilgore, in Bingham. Both parents preceded him in death.
He had retired as a truck driver after being employed by Groendyke Trucking Co. He had also worked with Glover Packing Co. and Van Winkle Roofing. He served his country in the Army.
Survivors include his longtime companion Barbara Ripley; and a daughter Tammy Fox and her husband Hurshel, of Channelview, Texas. Other survivors are three sisters, Eva Roberts, of Roswell, Tina Pierson and husband Marlon, of Elkins, Ark., and Lavida Hamilton and Bud, of Mayflower, Ark.; three grandchildren, Corry Pogue, Chance Van Vickle and Amelia Fox; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a son Thomas Lee Kilgore, in 1991; and a daughter Geneva Van Vickle, in 2006.
Pallbearers will be Hugh Roberts, Bill Kilgore, Mark Kilgore, Hurshel Fox and Corry Pogue. Honorary pallbearers will be Bud Hamilton and Bobby Madron.
