The Roswell Adult and Senior Center, 807 N. Missouri Ave., will have an indoor garage sale/flea market on Friday March 8 from 5-8 p.m. and on Saturday March 9 from 7 [auth] a.m.- 1 p.m. There will be about 40 vendors selling items at the event.
The Kiwanis Club of Roswell will be hosting the 44th Annual Pancake Festival Saturday, March 9, from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Roswell Convention Center, 912 N. Main. The Kiwanis Club of Roswell is a civic organization that focuses on leadership and service opportunities for youth through its activities such as: Builder’s Club, Key Club, Circle K, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, Youth Challenge, Little League and more. The Rio Pecos Kennel Club will have its seventh annual Shamrock Wag-n-Walk Saturday, March 9, from 9-11 a.m. at Cahoon Park by the pool. Walk for fun or walk to compete with your dog! The 1 and 2 mile competitive walks start at 9:30 a.m. The non-competitive walks are from 9:30-11 a.m. $15 for one person and one dog — additional dogs are $2 each. No need to pre-register! All dogs must be on a leash and have all their shots. There will also be fun contests for you and your dog, and prizes for winners of cute puppy and adult, most talented and best costume, all starting at 10 a.m. Micro-chipping will be available from 9-11 a.m. ID you pet for a low cost of $35. Goddard Planetarium, 100 W. 11th St., invites you to a free Science Saturday program designed for children and their parents this Saturday, March 9, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. This week’s program will be all about planets. We offer a number of programs for all ages and a variety of activities that can be taken back to the classroom for reinforcement of the concepts presented. (Life-skills Imparted to Families through Education) will host a program all about public benefits, including housing, tenant issues and court preparation Sunday, March 10, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Roswell Boys & Girls Club, 201 S. Dr. Sebastian Lopez of Zia Medical Associates will speak at Healthsense at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at Senior Circle, 2801 N. Main St., next door to Family Dollar. March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Dr. Lopez will address cancer and the importance of colonoscopies. The program is free and open to the public. A light lunch will be served.
