Funeral services will be held for [auth] Lupe Lopez, 79, of Roswell, at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Christ’s Church, with the Rev. Tommy Vallejos officiating. Burial will follow in South Park Cemetery. She passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013, surrounded by the love of her family and into the waiting arms of the Lord.

Lupe was born Dec. 7, 1933, to Antonio and Lola Gonzales in Dexter. Lupe was a lifelong resident of Roswell and of the Christian faith. She was a loving mother and grandmother and always did the best for her family.

Lupe was cared for by her daughter Cary, who for years ensured mom was doing well. Especially when mother was ill, it was up to Cary to take it upon her shoulders to see that mom was taking all her medication, eating and looking beautiful as always before she stepped outside. For the past six months it was Eddie who stepped up and assisted in caring for our mother, including getting up and making her breakfast. She will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish Lupe’s memory are her brother Paul Gonzales, of Walla Walla, Wash.; her sister Linda Sedillo, of Carson, Calif.; her brother Daniel Gonzales; of Roswell; her son Bobby Vallejos, of Albuquerque; her son Eddie Vallejos, of Roswell; her daughter Cary Candelaria and her husband Steve, of Roswell; her son Tommy Vallejos and his wife Carol, of Clarksville, Tenn.; her daughter Toni Vallejos, of Roswell; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lupe was preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Lola Gonzales; her brothers, Manuel Gonzales, Andy Gonzales and Tony Gonzales; her sons, Jerry Vallejos, Joe Vallejos and Ray Vallejos; her husband Cirelo Lopez; and two grandsons, Jerry Joe Vallejos and Michael Vallejos.
Pallbearers will be Joe Albert Gonzales, Adrain Vallejos, Reynaldo Vallejos, Jerry Anthony Vallejos, Steven Candelaria and Tommy Vallejos Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Damien Candelaria, Jacob Vallejos, Rudy Vallejos, Lena Rene Olivas, Albert Vallejos and Teddy Vallejos.

The family would like to thank the ICU staff at ENMMC and the Fresenius Dialyis Center for their love and support.
