LONG BEACH, Calif. — Aurelia (Lala) Rustman, 83, died peacefully with her daughters by her side, on Feb. 12, 2013, in Long Beach.
Lala, as she was called, was born on March 18, 1929, in Roswell, N.M., the daughter of Juanita Archuleta Torres and Antonio Torres. She moved to Long Beach in 1947.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Beryl (Russ) Rustman; five brothers, Clifford Torres, Toby, Val, Henry and Danny Avila; sister Geneva Lucero; and daughter Liz Torrez. She is survived by two daughters, Johni Komisak (Terry), of Long Beach, and Jolinda Sampson, of Rosamond; son Tony Torrez (Michelle), of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; stepchildren, Bruce and Alan Rustman, Gerry, Barbara; sisters, Sally Teel (Jim) and Anita Ramirez, of Roswell; grandchildren, Lance (Diana) Tanaka, Mark (Teri) Tanaka, David (Stephanie) Sampson, Tammy (Alton) Sampson-Seymour, Rebecca Sampson, Kenny (Nicole) Yanagihara, Matthew Torrez, and Kristin Torrez; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Cody, Courtney, Kara, Jonathan, Alex, Joshua, Sara, Ricky, Breanna, Maddy, Tyler C, Ashley, Tyler S., Tara, Zachary, Chauntoya, Taazia and Jessica; great-great-grandchildren, Jaden and Scarlett; her special friends, Lisa and Ray Quibin and Hank and Claudette Torrez; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her legacy is the family she leaves behind. She loved spending time with her family, cooking, shopping and going to Las Vegas. She was a very special woman and will truly be missed by all.
