The Desk & Derrick Club of Roswell will hold its monthly meeting at noon on Tuesday, March 5. The Club meets at the Elks Lodge at 1720 N. Montana Ave. The meal will be chicken fajitas and dessert for $10. We will have Mayor Del Jurney as our guest speaker. He will give a mayoral proclamation of Desk & Derrick Awareness Month. Linda Hall will be at Sew Easy Sewing for the Free Trunk Show and free-motion quilting demos Tuesday, March 5, from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The $35 scarf class will be from 2-5 p.m. She will be at Sew Easy Sewing again on Wednesday morning from 10-11:30 a.m. and then at the Roswell Adult Center visiting the Pecos Valley Quilt Guild for the Trunk Show and free-motion quilting demos from 1:15-3 p.m. The public is welcome at both locations!
The Branch Community College Board of Eastern [auth] New Mexico University-Roswell will meet Tuesday, March 5, at 4 p.m. in the Lawrence C. Harris Occupational Technology Center, 20 W. Mathis, room 115. The board will act upon business so presented and may meet in executive session. Agendas for the meetings are available in the President’s Office located on the ENMU-R campus in the Lawrence C. Harris Occupational Technology Center, 20 West Mathis. The public is invited to attend.
If anyone is interested in being a team captain for the annual Bowl for Kids Sake event to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters, there will be a kick-off party for the team captains on Tuesday, March 5, from 5:30-7 p.m. at 1717 W. Second St. suite 170. This party will give the team captains a lot of information about BBBS. There will be snacks and drinks provided for the evening.
There will be a free Alzheimer’s caregiver education offered in Roswell. The Alzheimer’s Association, New Mexico Chapter will host a free seven-week education course in Roswell specifically designed for people caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s or other dementia. Beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, the “Savvy Caregiver Program” will meet once per week for seven consecutive weeks at the Roswell J.O.Y. Center, 1822 N. Participants may be reimbursed for the cost of having others tend to their loved one while they attend the classes.

The Tumblebead Club of Roswell would like to invite beaders of any skill level to come and visit our next meeting on Thursday, March 7, from 7-9 p.m. Must be over 16 years of age or older. We meet at Happy Jack’s Trading Post at 4905 W. 2nd St. on every first and third Thursday of each month. Feel free to come on any of those nights as well.
