Nina Perry Taylor of Lincoln was called to her heavenly home on Feb. 25, 2013, at the age of 98. Born Dec. 26,1914, to Elzy and Mayme Perry at the Glencoe homestead of her grandparents, George and Phoebe Coe. Nina received her early education in Glencoe before graduating high school from Hondo High. In 1937, she graduated from New Mexico A&M and put her Bachelor of Arts degree to work teaching English and history at Hondo High School. In 1939, she married Ray Taylor, who shared her life for 54 years until his death. Nina loved to read and took a special interest in issues that involved children and education. Nina also loved to travel, relating the places she visited to the history of her family and the history of our country. A woman of great faith, she is survived by her children, Phoebe Taylor, Ellen Fay and Eddy Womack, James and Nita Taylor, Margaret Watson, Tom and Peggy Pugh Taylor, Liz and Gerald Montes, Earl and Marsha Taylor, Clark and Janet Taylor, Kenneth and Carol Taylor, John and Diane Taylor and Shirley and Eddie Dimas; grandchildren, Ann (Ray) Miles, Debbie (Ken) Cox, Teri (Troy) Pickett, Kristi (Danny) Montano, Kyle (Anne) Taylor, Friday Bodine, Rob (Marian) Taylor, Kelly (Ray) Pope, Brent (Terri) Racher, Neil (Alaina) Montes, Jason (Melissa) Montes, Raejeana (Keith) Jay, Linda (John) Nehls, Michael (Melissa) Taylor, Clint (Dominique) Taylor, Ray Taylor, Chris (Wendy) Taylor, Susan Taylor, Cassie Taylor, Candice (Josh) Church, Mark Dimas and Erin (Josh) Collins. She is also survived by 35 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandsons and siblings, Leroy, Don, Jane Riddall and Charles. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, George, Gladys Nosker, Ruth Rosco, Elzy, Jr., Lloyd and James H.
Graveside services are Thursday, Feb. 28, at 11 a.m. at George Coe Cemetery at Glencoe Coe.
