A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for Dominga “Minnie” Guerra, of Roswell, who passed away Feb. 11, 2013. A Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Rev. Charlie Martinez of St. Peter’s Catholic Church will officiate. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.
Minnie was born in [auth] Rio Grande City, Texas, to Fortunato and Adela Villareal. They have preceded her in death as well as a son Armando Guerra; two brothers, Armando and Aibal Villareal; three sisters, Vera Sain, Delfina Rodriguez and Barbara “LaLa” Benavidez.
Minnie married Edward “Eddie” G. Guerra on Oct. 4, 1942, in Harlingen, Texas. He preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 1984.
She is survived by one son Julian and his wife Sharon Guerra of Lubbock, Texas; one daughter Sylvia Schomburg and her husband Bob of Roswell; one brother Alberto Villareal of McAllen, Texas; two sisters, Otila Luond of Storrs, Conn. and Viola Harris of Taylors, S.C.; grandchildren, Ashley and Ricardo Salinas of Phoenix, Anisa Schomburg, Rick DeSplinter and Kelly An; great grandchildren, Braeden Salinas, Jay Horton, Jake, Missy, Luke, Lindsey, Lauren DeSplinter and Kennedy An.
Minnie was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and the Chaves County J.O.Y. Center. Her passion was dancing.
Pallbearers are Bob Schomburg, Julian Guerra, Rick Schomburg, Ricardo Salinas, Caesar Salinas Jr, and Caesar Salina Sr.
