Memorial services will be held for David Dawson, 55, of Roswell, at 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel.
David died Wednesday afternoon at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center of natural causes.
David Anthony Dawson was born on March 29, 1957, in Atlanta, Ga. He grew up in several states but spent his high school years in Salt Lake City, Utah. David moved to Roswell in 1977 to work for NCR. David married his wife Denise Dawson in October of 1980. David retired from NCR in 2009. David was an avid golfer and member of the Roswell Elks Lodge and Shriners. David spent much of his free time working to help raise money for veterans’ issues.
David is survived by his wife of 32 years Denise Dawson, of Roswell; daughter Laura Dawson, of Lubbock, Texas; son Cameron Dawson, of Odessa, Texas; mother Celia Dawson, of Portales; father Robert Dawson, of Las Vegas, Nev.; three sisters, Wanda Bentley, of Buda, Texas, Kathie Good and her husband Jim Good, of Portales, and Robin Mogelnicki and her husband Bob Mogelnicki, of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.; and six grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in his name to either the Elk’s National Foundation or The Shriner’s Hospitals.
