Fire in Albuquerque home kills family dog

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — The Albuquerque Fire Department says a family dog died after the owners of a [auth] home returned home and found it full of smoke.

One of the owners took the dog to an animal hospital but it did not survive.

Meanwhile, firefighters put out the fire that is believed to have been started Sunday evening by a portable floor heater.
