A rosary will be recited for Joe P. Moreno Jr., 65, of Roswell, at 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at St. John’s Catholic Church. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at St. John’s Catholic Church with Deacon Ernesto Martinez officiating. Burial will follow in South Park Cemetery. He passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013. Military honors will be provided by [auth] the Roswell Veterans Honor Guard.
Joe was born Oct. 19, 1947, to Jose Moreno and Maria Perez Moreno, in Littlefield, Texas. He was a member of the VVA and served in the United States Army. Following his service in the Army he started driving a truck and enjoyed it very much. He drove for many years for Leprino Foods, where he retired in 2004. After his retirement, he loved riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him
Joe is survived by his wife Maria Moreno, of the family home; his children, Jose G. Coronado and his wife Joann, Lisa Marie Levario and her husband Abel, Rachael Moreno and Alex Serctuche, and Santos Moreno and Mayra Calderon; his daughter-in-law Jessica C. Moreno; Steve Moreno; Jerry Moreno and Alex Moreno Rue and his wife Gina; his grandchildren, Ruben Coronado, Angelica Coronado, Destiny Coronado, Cynthia Garcia, Abel Levario Jr., Sadie Levario, August Moreno, Lucius M. Sertuche, Steve Moreno Jr, Gisselle Moreno, Yessenia Moreno, Ruby Moreno, Ezikel Moreno, Xavier Moreno and Julian, Dominic and Isabella Rue; his siblings, Vicki and Joe Baldazo, of San Antonio, Texas, Janie and Freddie Chavez, of Roswell, Carmelo Moreno, of Roswell, Lisa and Javier Juarez, of Roswell, Maria Molina and her companion Jose Lozano, of Roswell, Angie Moreno, David Moreno, Bertha Moreno, Raymond Moreno, Freddie Sanchez, Henry and Chris Miranda, Robert Miranda, Ralph Miranda and Dolores Perez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Maria Moreno; his grandparents; his stepmother Virgie Herrera; his son Joe P. Moreno III; his brothers, Victor and Gilbert Moreno; his sisters, Hope and Georgia Moreno; numerous aunts and uncles; and one nephew Sonny Juarez.
Pallbearers will be Isacc Molina, Anthony Molina, Ruben Coronado, Santos Moreno, Mark Ortega, Chen Molina, Martin Molina and Frankie Juarez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Juarez, David Moreno and Monica Molina.
