ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Albuquerque police s[auth] ay a shoplifting suspect suffered minor injuries when he was hit by a car and then shot in a parking lot where he’d fled after being confronted by a store employee.

Police on Monday identified the man as 33-year-old David Montoya. They say he’ll likely face charges for shoplifting and threatening security personnel.

Montoya was struck by bullets fired from the same car that hit him during Sunday evening’s incident.

Police say Montoya ran out of the store after pulling a knife on an employee. The employee told police that Montoya had an altercation earlier in the store with the people who were in the car that hit him.

Police are still looking for the car. It’s described as a white Cadillac.
