Celebration of life services will be held for Geraldine Clark at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Beaver officiating.
Geraldine, 91, passed from this life Jan. 9, 2013, after a lengthy illness. She was born July 19, 1921, in Duncan, Okla., to B.A. and Beulah Mae Shipman. She graduated from Lawton, Oklahoma’s Central High School in 1939.
While working as a telephone operator at Ft. Sill, Okla., she met and married the love of her life Bernard Clark on Dec. 24, 1944, in Ft. Sill. They moved to Roswell in 1945. Geraldine enjoyed sewing, knitting and various other crafts. Geraldine was a faithful and active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for more than 60 years and participated in Roswell Adult Center functions until health issues slowed her attendance.
Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernard Clark, sons, Gerard and Gene and a sister Faye Howard.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her son Charles Clark and wife Connie, daughter Denise Clark, all of Roswell, sister Mary Thistle, of Stover, Mo., brother Coy Shipman, of Ft. Worth, Texas, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a special friend Beth Hader.
The family extends their appreciation to the staff at Mission Arch Care Center for their loving and compassionate care of Geraldine.
