United Way
The United Way of Chaves County will have its annual [auth] meeting Jan. 22 from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Roswell Convention and Civic Center, 912 N. Main St. The event is $15 per person, or $120 for a table of 8. RSVP by Wednesday, Jan. 16, by calling 622-4150.

Free Shot Clinic
The NM Department of Health and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NM are offering free adult and child flu shots and childhood immunizations Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the McDonald’s UFO Restaurant on Main Street. Parents are encouraged to bring their children’s shot records. Nurses will be on hand from 8 a.m.-noon. For more information, call 505-850-7066.

Republican Women
Chaves County Republican Women will hold their monthly luncheon meeting Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 11:45 a.m. at the Elks Lodge, 1720 N. Montana Ave. Lunch will be $11. Guest speakers are Mike Gottlieb, former superintendent of the Roswell Independent School District and Mackenzie Hunt, president of the RISD Board. Commission on Aging
The City Commission on Aging will meet Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 3 p.m. at the Chaves County J.O.Y. Center, 1822 N. Montana Ave. Veterans and their survivors should take note of the benefits conference at the Civic Center, 12-5 p.m. on Feb. 6. DivorceCare is a video-based weekly seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced. The next 13-week session begins Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 6 p.m. in room 102 at Grace Community Church, 935 W. Mescalero Rd. Workbook costs $15. Scholarships available. DivorceCare for Kids
If you know a child hurting because of his or her parents aren’t together anymore, bring him or her to DC4K, a special place for kids ages 5-12 to find help and healing.DC4K will begin meeting Wednesdays for 13 weeks, from 6-8 p.m. in Room 101 at Grace Community Church, 935 W. Caregiver Support
The JOY Roswell Caregiver Support Group will meet Thursday, Jan. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at the Roswell J.O.Y. Center, 1822 N. Montana Ave. Mike Puckett of Habitat for Humanity will be the guest speaker. Learn Square Dance
Free square dance lessons will start at the Roswell Adult Center, 807 N. Missouri Ave., Thursday, Jan. 17, and be every Thursday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Join the “Enchanted Squares,” a group of 50-60 fun-loving, neat people. Regular class attendance is about 20-30.
