Graveside services for Harvey Long, 82, of Roswell, will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at South Park Cemetery with Vista Care Chaplain, Cecil Kimberlin officiating. He passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at his home. Visitation will be from noon until 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, and from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home.
Harvey was born in Moriarty on April 6, 1930, to Jackson H. Long Sr., and Anna Bea Kuykendall Long. He moved to Roswell in 1969 and married Imogene Clements Long on Nov. 5, 1977. Harvey was a truck driver and worked in the construction industry. Harvey was a proud father of six children.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, David Long, of Estancia, Karen Hudson and Dian Clements, of Roswell, and Harvey L. Long, of Andrews, Texas; 3 step-children, Carol Johnson of Clovis, Jimmy Clements, of Roswell, and Danny Clements, of Texas; 20 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Those preceding him in death are his first wife Wilma Lee Simmons Long; his second wife Imogene Clements Long; his parents Jackson H. and Annie B. Long; his grandparents, Mack C. and Alice Long, Amos and Nettie Kuykendall; his daughter and son, Gloria and Wayne Long.
His grandsons, Greg Long, Brian Long, Jonathan Long, Josh Long, Michael Long, Loran Long, Brandon Long, Jared Long and Doug Wilson will serve as pallbearers.
