Police Blotter: Unlocked vehicles too tempting

•Police were called to the 300 block of South Michigan Avenue, Sunday. The victim said that someone had removed two stereo speakers and speaker boxes, valued at $200, from an unlocked vehicle.
•Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Avenida Del Sumbre, Saturday, after subjects took an IBM Thinkpad, valued at $1,000, from an open [auth] trunk.

Shots fired
Police were dispatched to Up Your Alley, 3905 S.E. Main St., early Sunday morning, following a call about shots fired. The person reporting the incident said that someone in a white Hummer fired a gun into the air. The officer found a spent casing. He contacted the male subject who admitted that he had gotten into a fight with someone in the bathroom. The man was arrested for public affray.

Criminal damage
Police responded to the 600 block of West Alameda Street, Saturday, after subjects shot out the rear passenger window with a BB gun. The replacement costs were estimated at $300.

Police received a walk-in report, Friday. The victim stated he had discovered 18 unauthorized transactions on his bank account that had taken place sometime between August and December.
