A graveside service will be held for Opal Wiley, 96, of Roswell, at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Memory Lawn Cemetery with Herb Gage Vista Care Hospice Chaplain officiating. Opal passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012.
Opal was born Sept. 19, 1916, in Foster, Okla. She moved to Roswell in 1952 from Oklahoma and worked for Anthony’s in piece goods. She ultimately retired from Roswell High School cafeteria at the age of 72. She and her husband Howard were lifelong members of the Chaves County Sheriff’s Posse. She also loved to cook and bake, while sharing all her wonderful creations with her friends and family.
She is survived by her son Charles Wiley; her granddaughter Kelly Minard and her husband Gary, and great-granddaughter Katrina; her grandchildren, Sinda Smith, of Ariz., Darin Wiley, of Colorado, and Kerri Wiley; and her sister-in-law Leuana Studdard, of Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles H. Wiley, and her daughter Patricia Neil.
