•Police were dispatched to Hastings, 1705 N. Main St., Wednesday, where subjects took nearly $2,600 worth of video games. The store turned over surveillance footage of the incident to the police. The video revealed two adults, one male and one female, and one child all described as Hispanic participating in the theft. The Technical Services Unit came in to process the scene.
•Police were called to the 600 block of East Tilden Street, Wednesday, after a subject or subjects removed a Craftsman compressor from a shed and a battery from a disabled vehicle. The victim valued the items at $410.
Police responded to a call from Family Furniture, 2001 S. Main Street, Wednesday after a subject broke into a vehicle, causing more than $1,600 worth of damage to a delivery vehicle and the building. The officer noted the windshield, driver and passenger windows broken. The rear window and console were popped out of position, and parts had been removed from the column. The inside cab was described as covered with blood. The Technical Services Unit was called in to process the vehicle and take samples.
A dispute over land turned ugly, Wednesday, when one party threatened to burn five acres and buildings in the county. The case reported to the RPD was turned over to the Chaves County Sheriff‘s Office, and the property will be placed on close patrol.
The RPD were dispatched to Motel Six, 3307 N. Main St., Wednesday, in response in to a suspicious subject call. Officials discovered 12.74 ounces of marijuana in one of the rooms. One male subject was arrested.
