ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Authorities are searching for a man wanted on a felony warrant who fled from a northeast Albuquerque home after a lengthy standoff with police.

The incident began around 3:15 p.m. Monday [auth] when Albuquerque police received reports of a burglary in progress.

Officers arrived and learned 20-year-old Christopher Sosa was inside the home against the resident’s wishes.

Police say Sosa is wanted on a felony warrant for allegedly stealing a propane tank from a grocery store in October.

A barricade situation ensued until around 7 p.m. when police say the home’s garage door opened and Sosa drove away at a high rate of speed.

A police officer fired two shots at the car. Detectives later found the vehicle, but still are looking for Sosa. Police say he’s considered armed and dangerous.
