A rosary is scheduled for 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at St. Peter Catholic Church, for Esther Fabry, 90, who passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at her home in Roswell. A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, also at St. Peter Catholic Church. Deacon Howard Herring will officiate. Burial will follow in South Park Cemetery.
Esther was born March 30, 1922, in Krebs, Okla., to Bill and Theresa (Ramazatti) Cole. They both preceded her in death, as did her sisters, Marry Rossel and Tilde Cole, and her two brothers, Bosco and Guy.
Esther worked for several years for the Navy in McAlister, Okla. She also worked at J.C. Penney’s, where she met her future husband Tony.
On Feb. 15, 1947, Esther married Anthony “Tony” Fabry in McAlister. Esther and Tony moved to Roswell, where they lived for more than 63 years.
Esther had an outstanding dress shop for several years in downtown Roswell.
Esther was actively involved with St. Peter and Assumption Catholic churches. She also helped the Knights of Columbus alongside her husband Tony. In Conway, Ark., she was instrumental in the building of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church.
