Police Blotter: Woman throws cup of scalding hot coffee at nurse

Police arrested a woman, Wednesday, on charges of battery of a health care worker. According to the arrest report, the 34-year-old woman threw a cup of “scalding, hot coffee” at a nurse after she asked the patient to get off the phone. The woman was taken to Chaves County Detention [auth] Center on a $25,000 cash or surety bond.

•Police were dispatched to the 400 block of South Missouri Avenue, Wednesday, where subjects gained entry into a residence by breaking through a bedroom window. The victim reported a Ruger AR15, SR556, a Trijicon Acoscope, an Xbox game console, 10 32-round magazines for the AR15, a Sony video laptop, Oakley sunglasses and unspecified number of pieces of jewelry stolen. The individual assessed the losses at $6,700.
•Police were called to the 1400 block of Bonita Drive, Wednesday, after an individual reported a suspicious subject wearing a white hoodie attempting to steal a car. The witness said the subject was inside a car fiddling with the ignition.
