Perps hit local churches

•Police responded to a call [auth] from Grace Community Church, 935 W. Mescalero Road, Monday, after subjects took four 12-volt batteries, valued at $432, and siphoned $300 worth of gas from four separate church vans.

•Police were dispatched to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 115 W. 11th Street, Monday, after thieves removed a security camera, valued at $160, from the side of the building.

•Police were called to Associated Records, 100 SE Wells St., Monday, after subjects stole a security camera valued at $350


•Police were called to East Martin, Monday, where subjects broke into a vehicle and removed a Craftsman pressure washer, Craftman tool kits, a Magic Chef refrigerator, a Craftsman 19 volt charger, an air compressor, two tool boxes and a Buster battery pack. The victim estimated the value of the missing items at $1,630.

•Police were sent to the 1500 block of Riley Drive, Monday. Friends discovered the screen lying on the ground and the kitchen window and sliding doors open. The officer described the place as having been ransacked. Officials noted jewelry scattered all over the floor. A flat-screen television was reported stolen.
