ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Police say an Albuquerque man arrested for vandalism tried to get out of his charges by offering to turn in what he said was a bigger [auth] target for authorities — his mother.
KOB-TV reports (http://bit.ly/YHtUtK) that 27-year-old Vaughn Godwin recently made the offer to police following his arrest over the destruction of his apartment.
According to the criminal complaint, Godwin said he destroyed the place because his mother was not giving him money or his medications. The complaint says that’s when Godwin told police his mother was selling marijuana out of her home.
Police say Godwin had hoped his charges would be dropped.
No attorney was listed for Godwin.
