FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) — A woman accused of running over a Farmington police officer during a car chase in 2011 will receive mental-health treatment as part of a plea deal.
The Daily Times (http://bit.ly/Vd4Y77) [auth] reports 22-year-old Thuhang Ho pleaded no contest Friday to running her car into Officer Jared Stock as he was laying stop sticks at an intersection.
Stock sustained a broken right arm and an injured left knee.
Ho will be sentenced Tuesday on a felony charge of causing great bodily harm by motor vehicle, which carries a three-year sentence.
District Judge John Dean ruled that Ho will get credit for time served and spend the remainder of her sentence at a behavioral health facility in Las Vegas.
Her attorney says she suffers from paranoid schizophrenia.
